Golden California

These were taken using a method I call "Kinetic Photogrpahy": out the window of a moving car at like 70 Mph going down I-5 just outside of Patterson, CA.

I look at these images and I think of Steinbeck country- the rolling costal foothills of California covered in golden grasses and big blue sky.

The Super Moon

To quote Geroge Carlin: There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.

Mayor's Choice

I am so please and honored that this photo was selected by the Mayor Gary Soiseth, Turlock, CA (my home town) as his personal selection for the Mayor's Award. The photo along with 2 others is now on exhibit at the Carnegie Center for the Arts in Turlock. Go have a look! The show has a lot of amazing art from talented people across the Central Valley.

Driving Home after the Storms- Feburary 2017

The fist two were taken on HW 156 and HW 33 respectively, heading over  the St. Luis Reservoir  toward the Central Valley.  The spring storms make for great skies!

The last image was made from the top of Coit Tower overlooking San Francisco, also after a little rain in December 2012.

A Thing for Trees

What can I say? I have a thing for trees and these days, Monterey has not disappointed!
All of these were snapped in early morning on my way to work!

Primordial morning if there ever was one.

Early morning sun on a grand Monterey Oak. Can't figure out which like better, color or black and white. Depends on my mood. Today, I like the black and white better.

Drought victim outside my front door. We have lost my trees around my apartment building. This is a reminder not to take anything for granted.

Keystone Ranch, HW 108 California

Keystone Ranch is located on Highway 108 outside of Jamestown, California.   It has been around since the 1850's.  Today, if you Google it, you will learn that it is a speed trap for the CHP. About 2 months after I photographed this old hand-panted sign, it was removed. Now a much less interesting and smaller sign has replaced it. Too bad.
